Historic Banning Mills is an adventure resort and conference center nestled into the Snake Creek Gorge located just outside Carrollton Georgia and roughly 40 minutes West of Atlanta in Whitesburg, GA. Historic Banning Mills holds two Guinness World Records, 1. for the largest/longest zip line course (over 11 miles in total), and 2. for the tallest free standing artificial rock climbing wall. In addition to the world class zip line course and astounding climbing walls, Historic Banning Mills also offers kayaking, team building, 15 miles of hiking trails, a 100 foot free fall, horseback riding, NEW Eco-Spider ATV tours, kids summer camps, aerial challenge courses, overnight lodging in a variety of rooms from economy hotel style to tree houses overlooking the gorge, gourmet dining, business and group meeting spaces, birds of prey nature programs, long term RV sites, and more!

In addition to all of the excitement and gorgeous natural beauty that can be found at Historic Banning Mills, guests will also feel as though they’re stepping back in time as they uncover the rich history surrounding the area. Historic Banning Mills is currently in the process of being designated a National Historic District for the immense mill operations that once called this area home. Many of the ruins from the old mill sites still stand as one with nature along our trail systems, just as they have since the early 1800’s. Banning Mills played a pivotal role in this time period for many reason, and was actually the first place in the state of Georgia to have running electricity, and was home to the original discovery of paper manufacturing as we know it today!
